RCIC Marks 1st Anniversary with Sustainability Initiatives

The Regional Coffee Innovation Center of Davao del Sur State College will celebrate its 1st Anniversary with a sustainability-driven initiative as part of the College’s week-long Founding Anniversary celebration.

On February 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the RCIC Grounds, the Center will offer free coffee to students, faculty, staff, alumni, industry partners, and guests. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cup, mug, or tumbler in support of environmental sustainability and waste reduction efforts.

The initiative reflects our commitment to coffee excellence and responsible innovation. By promoting reusable containers, the Center reinforces eco-conscious practices aligned with DSSC’s institutional thrust toward sustainable development and community engagement.

Since its establishment, RCIC has served as a hub for research, innovation, extension, and industry collaboration in the coffee sector across the Davao Region. Over the past year, the Center has strengthened farmer capacity-building programs, product development initiatives, quality improvement interventions, and knowledge-sharing platforms aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the Philippine coffee industry.

The 1st Anniversary celebration highlights not only RCIC’s milestones but also its forward-looking vision of fostering a sustainable and inclusive coffee ecosystem. The free coffee activity symbolizes the integration of innovation, environmental responsibility, and community participation as a core values shared by DSSC-RCIC.

As DSSC commemorates another year of academic leadership and public service, RCIC invites the community to celebrate responsibly and sustainably.
